Craftex began in 1977, when our founder, after losing his job as a wine salesman, started selling plants and craft items at a Houston flea market. After noticing a demand for macramé rope, he traveled to South America to source it directly — beginning our long tradition of global treasure hunting. Over the decades, we evolved from craft supplies to curated décor, always guided by one idea: help people create beauty that feels deeply personal.
